2005-2 경기대 편입영어 출제경향

2005-2학기 경기대 기출문제에서 우선 눈에 띄는 특징은 시험 문제가 절반으로 줄었다는 점이다. 지난 학기까지는 80문항씩 출제하던 것을 이번 학기에는 그 절반에 해당하는 40문항으로 대폭 줄었다.

분야별로 문법 10문항(25%), 어휘 10문항(25%), 논리완성 10문항(25%), 독해 10문항(25%)이 출제되었다. 전체 문항수 변동과 달리 파트별 비중에서는 큰 변동이 없었다. 부분적으로 문법 부분이 다소 줄고 논리완성이 조금 늘어나는 경향을 보였다.

문법 10문항은 모두 ‘어법상 적절치 못한 부분을 고르기’였다. 대부분의 문제들이 기본적인 문법사항을 묻는 것들이어서 정답을 고르는데 그리 어렵지 않았을 것이다.

어휘 부문은 전체적으로 난이도 있는 편이었다. precarious, nascent, debris, impasse, compliant, bolster, cajole, 그리고 licentious, titter, winnow 등 출제된 단어 모두 정도 수준의 단어들이지만 특히 뒤에 3개는 평소 눈에 익지 않은 것들이었다. 그러나 단어의 뜻을 모르더라도 문맥을 통해 잘 유추하면 답을 고를 수 있었을 것이다.

논리완성 10문항은 짧은 단문을 완성하는 것이 대부분이었으나, 약간 긴 것들은 문법적으로 그리고 의미상으로도 적절한 것을 고르는 것이었다. 그러나 전체적으로 그리 어렵지 않았다.

독해 부문은 100~150단어의 비교적 짧은 지문 3개가 출제되었다. 지문 내용은 ‘폴란드어, 탱고와 아르헨티나, 지식’ 등이었다. 또 질문의 형태는 ‘글의 제목, 글의 어조, 문맥상 빈칸 완성, 문맥상 동의어, 특정어구가 지칭하는 것, 내용 일치, 앞 단락의 내용 추론’ 등 다양하였다.

  Effective knowledge is professionalized knowledge, supported by a restricted acquaintance with useful subjects subservient to it.

  This situation has its dangers. It produces minds in a groove. Each profession makes progress, but it is progress in its own groove. Now to be mentally in a groove is to live in contemplating a given set of abstractions.
